In partnership with the Chelsea District Library, grant recipient Purple Rose Theatre is hosting free public script readings. One recent example, The Classic King, is a new play developed through these readings that highlights a story rooted in this corner of the country. Grant Recipient Spotlight: 📅 Mark your calendars for the upcoming Chelsea Area Historical Society (CAHS) program featuring local author, Loren D. Estleman. ⏰Join in on Monday, March 2, at 7:00 pm. Loren D. Estleman is the master of the noir PI novel and recipient of the Private Eye Writers of America’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Several years ago Peter was introduced to CCF by Anne Mann and welcomed the opportunity to become involved. “Anne reached out and explained what CCF is about and asked if I’d like to be a part of it. Being involved with an organization that serves the community is rewarding. It’s important to be part of making the community an even better place.” The Chelsea Community Foundation is guided by an advisory committee of civic leaders who live or work in Chelsea. They are responsible for fund development efforts and serve as advisors for the grant applications that are submitted.
